The Scholars Academy for the Gifted and Artistically Elite’s mission is to collaborate with families to learn about the educational and humanistic desires of each scholar; to work to innovate creative pedagogical solutions to support shared goals utilizing our hallmark blended learning framework with myriad curricular resources; while balancing on our three pillars of future readiness; social-emotional, 21st Century, and advanced science lab skills to facilitate character growth and learning through personalized teaching, tutoring, and dispositional support.

The Scholars Academy for the Gifted and Artistically Elite at Cary Ballet Conservatory is a full-service educational program built especially for our unique students and their Professional Training Program (PTP) needs. Our executive director, Dr. Laura Lowder, has collaborated with PTP Director Mariaelena Ruiz to understand the needs of our dancers and to create a top-notch educational solution to prepare our students for the myriad opportunities that their futures may hold as dancers, as scholars, and as humans. We are delighted to welcome your family into ours and anticipate working together in support of your dancer so that he or she is able to thrive during this exceptional experience as a pre-professional dancer in training.

The Virtual Classroom of the Scholars Academy for the Gifted and Artistically Elite’s purpose is to provide research-based, quality, engaging teaching and learning experiences in a safe, virtual space, while responding to the dire educational challenges faced by our community and our world during the COVID-19 pandemic.  Our teachers facilitate personalized, teacher-led, virtual classroom sessions with small groups of students throughout the school year, balanced with self-paced opportunities for acceleration in key content areas.  We strive to collaborate with families to learn about the educational and humanistic desires of each scholar; to work to innovate creative, pedagogical solutions to support shared goals, utilizing our hallmark blended learning framework with myriad curricular resources; while balancing on our three pillars of future readiness; social-emotional, 21st Century, and hands-on science labs to facilitate character growth and learning through personalized teaching, tutoring, and dispositional support.
