About the Role

The Resettlement Manager oversees the development, implementation, and completion of all grants, contracts and activities related to the following program: resettlement services, particularly associated with the immediate needs of recently resettled refugees in Reception and Placement. Responsibilities include supervision of program supervisors to ensure compliance with funder requirements. This is a full-time, exempt position reporting to the Deputy Director.

Main Responsibilities

  • Effectively manage the development, implementation, compliance, and completion of Reception and Placement program grants and contracts.
  • Oversee program budgets and manage expenses to ensure costs are maintained within allocated budgets.
  • Develop, implement, and ensure compliance of internal program policies and procedures. 
  • Maintain a case file on each client in accordance with contract requirements and ensure compliance requirements by the Refugee Agency.
  • Track case approval process to ensure proper reporting of case statuses.
  • Communicate with the logistics team to secure a proper apartment setting for new arrivals as determined by program guidelines.
  • Work with the Refugee Services Deputy Director to ensure Reception and Placement case files are ready for internal audit, as well as state and federal partner monitoring. 
  • Prepare and submit all reports to the state and federal agencies as required. 
  • Facilitate interdepartmental communication and information sharing for monthly newsletters and program reports.
  • Accountable for accurate and timely reporting of services and programmatic data to National Volunteer Agency, State Coordinator, and stakeholders.
  • Provide leadership to ensure that the resettlement team develops and maintains partnerships with internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Coordinate closely with other program managers and the National Refugee Agency staff to ensure seamless delivery of services to clients.
  • Report activities, results, and areas of concern regularly to the Deputy Director. 
  • Provide interpretation and transportation to clients as needed.
  • Pick up refugees from the airport as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Manage the Reception and Placement Team. 
  • Train and provide leadership to staff in all aspects of program responsibilities.
  • Serve as point person and Resettlement Team representative for collaboration and correspondence with stakeholders including partner agencies, service providers, and donors.
  • Represent the Resettlement Team within the IMGH network in conferences, working groups and other contexts.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required. A master’s degree in social work or another human services field desirable.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in providing direct services to refugees is required.
  • Minimum of one (1) year managing and leading a team.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of supervising case workers in a refugee resettlement setting is preferred.
  • Experience managing a team of direct service providers is preferred. 
  • Fluency in English and one of the refugee languages (Arabic, Spanish, Kiswahili, Lingala, Kinyarwanda, Kirundi, Russian) is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to promote an organizational culture that reflects IMGH core values of service, accountability, integrity, and equality.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills supported by attention to detail skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in working with MS Office applications, with strong command of Excel.
  • May require occasional weekend and/or evening work.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and automobile liability insurance.
